The year is quickly coming to an end — 2020 will go into the history books as one of the most memorable years ever! However, with God, nothing is wasted.

This year has been very challenging with limited knowledge on “doing church” in different and innovative ways. Whether setting up parking-lot services, preaching and teaching to empty chairs or sharing the gospel solely through social media, CECC pulled it off with very few hiccups. It was difficult to say the least. As Senior Pastor, along with our Executive Pastor, Bro. Paul and Worship Leader, Donna Gay, we were all stretched. Our audio and videos were done with excellence. The CECC staff are truly the heroes.

Our motivation has always been to please Him. To lift Jesus up and walk with an understanding that God’s word never returns void (Isaiah 54:17). The anointing of God is never limited. He gave us the Holy Spirit without measure. Moreover, our Creator is pleased whether there are hundreds or just a few in attendance. God moves best when He is trusted.

Our faith might not look really glamorous; however, without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). Faith moves God. He responds best to simple faith mixed with obedience.

This year has not been a cake walk, but Jesus has been 100% faithful!

CECC, lost several of its members in the last year. Our dear—Charles Strickland, Sarah Pierce, Mary Davis, Winfred Bearden, Ray Silvers, John Russell, and Mary Johnson all received their heavenly reward. They are gone, but not forgotten and greatly missed.

During this year we had a record number of visitors and many of them have made CECC their home church and have become vital parts of the ministry. We have also continued to have salvations and baptisms occur weekly.

Amazingly, during these hard times, your tithe unto the Lord showed your faithful commitment. Let me repeat when things went south, because of Covid, the CECC family remained faithful. God sees that!

In the year 2021, we will endeavor to follow our great Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There will still be hurdles to cross, but with the Lord's guidance, we will continue to grow together.

As Senior Pastor, I foresee much more growth, with some challenges awaiting us. Some of our immediate challenges will be our seating capacity, a new attractive LED sign, and additional restoration to our existing properties. All along paying down our bank note to further God’s Kingdom.

In 2021, we will follow our mission statement, and continue to apply—Love, Prayer, and Grace in every situation we face. Next year, CECC could see Jesus returning on the clouds of the air. If not, we will be a beacon for the lost, with many God centered activities to reach our community.

As Pastor, I would like to pray over you and the congregation at large. Ready to receive? “Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask you to see our heart along with our actions going into the year 2021. I ask you Lord for a harvest of souls, with men, women, boys, and girls becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. I also ask you to place a divine covering over our fleshly bodies and protect us. In Jesus name I pray, amen.”
